zCash (ZEC) is a good alternative if people prefer security-by-technology instead of just "throw a transaction together with other transactions and hope for the best"

Talk about a gross mischaracterization of XMR's security model. zCash also lacks "security-by-technology" by default and instead requires you to "opt-in" per transaction.

zCash is not a good alternative at all. First of all, no one uses zCash for privacy, +99% of zCash's transactions are transparent. Also zCash have a predatory dev tax which enriches the zCash Foundation (note: Monero has no dev taxes, there are no "Monero corporation" or "Monero Foundation").
For hardcore cypherpunks Zcash is the antithesis of everything a privacy coin is supposed to be. Their corporate mentality and compliance fetishism is something that has to be seen to be believed.
Zcash is now even moving towards Proof of Stake. That sums it all up ( https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/zcash-proof-of-stake-megathread/49105 ).

Y'all can rally behind todays political talking points all you want! As long as you're unable to demonstrate why Monero is technically superior to zCash, you're making it very clear you're just trying to influence the discussion away from technical details, since then Monero might have a chance to look better than zCash
