Frequently Asked Questions
About Discuo
Do I need an account?
No. Discuo is built on principles of anonymity and accessibility. You can participate immediately without registration, fostering open and honest discussion.
How are posts organized?
Posts are sorted by activity and recency. Our unique thread system allows conversations to branch infinitely, creating natural discussion paths that you can explore deeply.
Identity & Privacy
What is a tripcode?
A tripcode is a secure way to maintain a consistent identity while staying anonymous. Use name#password format to generate one. The password is never stored, only its encrypted hash.
How is my privacy protected?
We take privacy seriously. IPs are hashed and only used for essential moderation. No personal data is stored or shared. Our minimalist approach extends to data collection - we only keep what's necessary for platform functionality.
Features
How do threads work?
Unlike traditional forums with linear discussions, Discuo uses an infinite thread system. Each reply can spawn its own discussion branch, allowing conversations to evolve naturally in multiple directions. When a thread branch becomes deep, you'll see a 'Continue this thread' option, letting you follow specific conversation paths. This creates a tree-like structure where discussions can grow organically without artificial constraints.
Can I share images?
Yes. You can attach one image per post or comment. Images add context to discussions while maintaining our minimalist aesthetic. Supported formats include PNG, JPG, and WebP (max 5MB).
Why is there a verification?
The Turnstile verification helps maintain discussion quality by preventing automated spam while being less intrusive than traditional CAPTCHAs.

How do I report content?
Visit /meta to report rule violations. Our minimalist approach extends to moderation - we act decisively when needed but prefer to let discussions self-regulate when possible.
