Discuo is designed with privacy in mind. We believe in providing a platform where users can freely express themselves without requiring personal information or accounts.
Unlike traditional social platforms, we don't:
- Require user registration
- Collect personal information
- Track user behavior
- Use advertising cookies
- Share any data with third parties
To maintain a safe environment while preserving anonymity, we use a minimalist moderation system:
- Posts and comments are associated with a hashed version of the poster's IP address
- This hash cannot be reversed to reveal the actual IP address
- Moderators can identify patterns of rule violations from the same source
- Bans are applied based on these hashed IPs when necessary
This approach allows us to:
- Protect user privacy
- Prevent abuse and spam
- Maintain content quality
- Enable effective moderation
Discuo features an infinite thread exploration system:
- Threads can branch indefinitely
- Each branch maintains its own context
- Discussions can evolve naturally
- Easy navigation between thread levels
While we encourage free expression, certain content is prohibited:
- Illegal content of any kind
- Personal information or doxxing
- Spam and automated posting
- Content that violates category-specific rules
Each category may have additional specific rules. Always check the category rules before posting.
To report content that breaks the rules, click the report button next to any post or comment. You can also create a post in /meta with:
- Link to the content
- Rule that was broken
- Brief explanation
Reports are handled by moderators. False reports may result in bans.
