Have you tried Duolicious? What do you think about it?

Came across this FOSS dating app/service/website: https://duolicious.app/ | https://github.com/duolicious

Seems to be mostly for "internet native" people, and is FOSS so filled with nerds, pretty cool. Found some fun people to chat with there, but nothing else so far.

Anyone else tried it and wanna share what they think of it and what their experience was like?

idk i believe theyre anathema with their goal and they only work as an exception rather than norm

Who, Duolicious? And what exactly do you mean, could you explain with other words?

> The word anathema has two main meanings. One is to describe that something or someone is being hated or avoided. The other refers to a formal excommunication by a church

Not sure which meaning you're going for here

- assuming goal is finding a partner (not just dating to see if it works)
- apps gamify people picking, remove tons of risk, etc.
- people double down on this gamification and bring it to real life and infinitely one-up themselves (i can get a better one i bet!!)
- they are never satistied
- people who want long term stuff quickly realize this and drop off
- people who are fools keep using it
- people who dont care and want one night stand take advtange of this
- if they work, it doesn't happen for the most time, just as an exception (must clarify since otherwise people come and say ah but my friends friends friends got married this way! ignoring all the other 999999999 of cases)
- arguably you cannot find an algo to make this work. you cannot replace the spell with scalars

so on

something like this

you need to figure out the rest

it doesn't work other than for one night stands

thats fine tho, but its not the messaging they commonly use

I like FOSS, but at a first glance I just get the feeling I'm not the target audience. Could you try selling it to me? Like what makes it different from other dating apps

No? I guess if you feel like you're not the target audience, you're right.

> what makes it different from other dating apps

It seems to be a bit more about how people are, rather than how people look, which seems like a plus in my mind. You answer a bunch of questions, others do the same, then you can see how much percentage of those answers match with other people.

I guess if you've been around for a while, it's a bit more like OKCupid and a lot less like Tinder.

I don't date and would advice everyone over 22 not to.

Have incels already infected this place?

Date whenever you want, regardless of what people tell you to. If you wanna date when you're 16, do that. If you wait until you're 32, do that. Don't let others tell you what to do or what's expected, run your own life, you only have one.
