Anime is dissapointing

most animated shows are unwatchable. The beauty of animated content is that it's limitless. You can just as easily create a sitcom or a sci fi adventure in another galaxy. you can create a show in any era starring any person with any concept the creator desires. Instead every anime is the same formulaic garbage with dull writing and forgettable characters. Even the "good" animes are only rated highly because audiences are so used to horrible content that when a show makes an effort they applaud even if it's barely average. Sometimes a show will make up for its lack of a storyline with high quality animation but all that leaves is a pretty show with no substance. AI could create better shows then the trash we're subjected to.

I don't get why it's so bad. Avatar showed that you could combine western writing with eastern art and produce a masterpiece but for some reason no other work like it has been produced since. Maybe it has to do with the decline of art in general. What a sad era.
