i'm on a 300 day streak of learning spanish on duolingo. to me, this seems to be how grammar works in spanish. "car no go. fix please" is gramatically correct in spanish

I can see that for negating stuff. You just add "no" to pretty much everything.
But I believe Spanish uses articles and prepositions very similarly to English, with the difference that in Spanish more of these words have gender variations.
El auto no va/funciona. Arreglalo por favor
The car doesn't go. Fix it please
