Maybe you keep all your memories, but you're just unable to remember them :o

Why do you think it’s scary? I think it’s more of a reason to make the most out of the few decades I have.

I gotta say, I don't find the concept of infinite life troublesome though it is hard for me to imagine what it looks like when taken to its logical extreme. Like if Earth is destroyed by an asteroid, do you just float around in space? What if you are sucked by a black hole? If you still survive all this, do you continue to feel pain? Cuz that would suck.
The guy who is given eternal life in the Sandman comic books seems to be having a good time. :/

I'm not religious, but playing devils advocate here. At least in the case of "reincarnation", it requires you to actually be able to be born first. Lets say the earth is destroyed, that means everyone will die at more or less the same time. Some poor souls would be dying as they're on the side of the planet that get hit by the asteroid, then they get reincarnated on the other side of the planet, and then some minutes/seconds they die again.
And then once everyone who had the last children also died, there is no more humans alive, so it's no longer possible to reincarnate.
Then our only hope is that some organism/cell/whatever survives interplanetary space travel (yay tardigrades maybe?), hits some Earth-like planet eventually, grows up to be a human (eventually) and then reincarnation can start again :)
