Noooo, please no! If you wanna read the forum, read the form, first to last, as communication was intended.

All this "popularity" stuff is just making it harder to have real conversations, instead people start fishing for reactions/likes/upvotes, so you just end up with one big hive-mind with everyone thinking the same...

Then write a reply and say "Wow, what a good post, could I bear your children?" and it's basically the same thing :)

At least for me it's actually better, personally.

Reaction, likes and upvotes are just a number. You are way more prone to compare them as such, see them as a score on a test.

If someone takes a moment to write "hey, just wanted to let you know, that thing you wrote really helped me". It's more like a real interaction, more human and for me at least, more meaningful

Thanks for your suggestion, but this is not the purpose of the platform, no reaction of any kind is planned to be added!

I feel there are definitely ways you could use accounts prestige/reputation, upvotes and such to increase civility, quality posts and productive discussions in a forum-like site.

But I really respect what discuo is doing so far. With an almost opposite approach it's still getting many of the benefits just by removing some of the most toxic engagement farming trends.

Plus getting some of the benefits of anonymous sites: Discussing taboo and controversial topics, being free from the expectations of your "internet persona", less likely to make assumptions of other users based on their prior takes, usernames, etc
